Lake Nona residents started a \u201cChalk Your Walk\u201d challenge to share messages of joy through street art<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

More than 100 families in the Laureate Park neighborhood participated in a colorful community activity to decorate their sidewalks and driveways with doodles, designs, and encouraging messages for their fellow neighbors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\neffort to share joy and solidarity, while also practicing social distancing, provided\nthe entire community with a special reason to get outside and explore what new\ncreations have been added to the neighborhood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From obstacle courses to sing-a-longs, residents put their artistic talents on display. Maggie Fischer drew a stunning \u201cNona Lisa\u201d interpretation of the famous \u201cMona Lisa\u201d in addition to a recreation of \u201cGirl with a Pearl Earring.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\nthink it\u2019s really important to balance out a lot of the fears and unknown\nthat\u2019s going on right now with inspiration,\u201d Fischer said. \u201cThere have always\nbeen times like this and I think humans in general have a good history of\nbringing something beautiful out of something negative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other displays featured an interactive element including a butterfly wings, a surf board, and weight-lifting where neighbors passing by could become part of the picture. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
